The windows in Fitchburg today

The older part of Fitchburg sits closest to Madison, with ranches and split-levels from the 1970s and 1980s along the Fish Hatchery Road and Seminole Highway corridors. These homes usually have a picture window in the living room and wide, short windows on the lower level. Many are on their original sliders or a first round of replacements.

Farther south and west the housing gets younger, with subdivisions from the 1990s onward and a lot of recent construction, where the issue is builder vinyl at the fifteen to twenty-five year mark. More than half of Fitchburg’s housing is in multi-unit buildings, so we also quote condos and townhomes, often one unit at a time.

Condo and townhome rulesMany Fitchburg units are governed by an association that controls exterior appearance. Get the association’s approval or written rules first, then send them with your photos.
Rural lots to the southSouthern Fitchburg still has acreage homes on open land. With no trees or neighbors to break the wind, windward walls need windows that seal tightly, so casements and fixed glass earn their place.
MGE territoryFitchburg gets its electricity from MGE. Energy programs change from year to year, so check with MGE and Focus on Energy for anything current before you order.

Common questions

Fitchburg Window Replacement FAQ

Do you install windows in Fitchburg, WI?

Yes. Fitchburg is about eight miles from our shop on Madison’s east side. We quote from photos and our own crew does every install.

Can you replace windows in my Fitchburg condo?

Yes. Most condo and townhome associations control exterior color and style, so check your association’s rules first and send them with your photos. We will quote a window that fits them.

My 1970s ranch still has its original windows. Where do I start?

Start with the living-room picture window and whichever side of the house takes the wind. Those are usually the coldest openings. Send photos of every window anyway, so you can see the price for the whole house and decide how far to go.

Do you work on acreage homes outside the city?

Yes. Rural lots south of Fitchburg are in our normal area. Exposed homes like these are where a tight-sealing casement or fixed window makes the biggest difference.
