HomeHow It Works

From Photos to New Windows.
Here Is Exactly What Happens.

Four steps, one short visit to your house before install day, and no money out of your pocket until every window is in and you have looked at all of them.

The whole process

New Windows in Four Steps

No sales rep in your living room, no evening presentation, no deposit to get started.

Step 1 · About five minutes

You send photos

Snap each window you want replaced from inside, then the same opening from outside if you can. Add a rough count and anything you already know is wrong, like a sash that will not stay up or ice forming on the inside of the glass. That is everything we need to start.

  • From inside, the whole window including the trim.
  • From outside, far enough back to see the surrounding wall.
  • A corner shot, so we can see how the frame is built.

Step 2 · Usually within one business day

We email your quote

You get a real number, written out so you can see what it covers: the style, the glass package, the install, the exterior wrap, the haul-away. No line that says “call for pricing”, no discount that expires at midnight. Read it whenever you like and ask whatever you want.

  • One price, the same one anyone else with your house would get.
  • Itemised, so you can drop or add openings and see what changes.
  • No obligation, and no follow-up sequence if you go quiet.

Step 3 · About 30 minutes, only after you approve

We measure

Once the price works for you, an installer comes out and measures every opening to the sixteenth of an inch, checks the sill and the condition of the framing, and confirms the style. This is the only time anyone comes to your house before install day, and the price does not change unless you change the order.

  • One short visit, scheduled around you, not a sales calendar.
  • The installer, not a rep with a tablet.
  • Your quote holds. Rotten sills and trim are replaced at no charge.

Step 4 · A few weeks to build, one to two days on site

Your windows are built, then installed

ProVia builds each window to your measurements, which is why this part takes weeks rather than days. When they arrive we book your install. Most homes are finished in a day or two, one opening at a time, and you pay when the last one is right.

  • Built to order, no stock sizes packed out with filler.
  • One opening at a time, so the house is never standing open.
  • Paid at the end, after the walkthrough, not before.

The day itself

What Install Day Actually Looks Like

  • AMWe arrive and set upDrop cloths over the floor, furniture pulled back from the wall, tools staged outside rather than through your living room.
  • AMThe first window comes outOne opening at a time. The old unit is out and the new one is in before we touch the next window, so your house is never standing open in Wisconsin weather.
  • MIDThe new window is set and sealedShimmed level and square, insulated around the frame, then sealed inside and out. This is the part that decides whether you feel a draft next winter.
  • PMTrim, caulk and hardwareExterior wrapped and caulked, locks and screens fitted and tested. Your interior trim usually stays right where it is. Every window gets opened and closed.
  • PMWalkthrough and cleanupWe open every window with you, show you the locks and the tilt latches, vacuum, and take the old windows away with us. Then you pay.

What we need from you

  • Clear about three feet in front of each window, inside and out. We will move the heavy things.
  • Take down blinds and curtains including the brackets if they are screwed into the trim.
  • Put pets somewhere quiet there is a lot of in and out, and the front of the house stays busy.
  • Leave us a spot to park close to the house if you can, since the units are heavy.
  • Be home at the end for ten minutes, so we can walk the house together before we go.

How payment works

You Pay When It Is Right, Not Before

Nothing to book the jobNo deposit, no scheduling fee, no money to hold a place in the calendar.
Nothing when we measureThe measure visit costs you nothing and commits you to nothing.
Everything at the endYou pay once the last window is in, tested and walked through with you.

Questions we get every week

Before You Ask

How long does the whole thing take?

Usually a day for the quote, a few weeks for ProVia to build your windows, and one to two days on site. Most homeowners are looking at about a month from photos to finished.

Do I have to be home the whole time?

No. Somebody needs to let us in and be there at the end for the walkthrough. The middle of the day is up to you.

Will the price change after you measure?

Not unless you change the order. Rotten sills and trim are replaced at no charge. On the rare job where the wall studs themselves are rotten, we stop, show you the problem, and repair it on a time and materials basis only after you say go.

Can you replace just one or two windows?

Yes. Plenty of homeowners start with the worst room and do the rest the following year. The price per window is the same either way.

What about my blinds and trim?

Take the blinds down before we arrive. We usually do not need to touch your interior trim at all, and the outside is wrapped in aluminum, so nothing is left for you to finish.

Can you install in the middle of winter?

Yes, and we do it all winter. One opening at a time means the house is open for minutes, not hours. A January install is also the fastest way to stop paying to heat the street.

Keep looking around
