HomeWarranty

Covered for Life.
In Writing, Not in a Handshake.

Every window we install carries ProVia’s Lifetime Limited Transferable Warranty, plus our own workmanship warranty on the install. Here is what each one actually covers, in plain English, and how a claim works if you ever need one.

Three layers

What Stands Behind Your Windows

The window

ProVia Lifetime Limited Warranty

The manufacturer covers the vinyl frame and sash, the hardware, the glass seal, glass breakage and the screens for as long as you own and live in the home. It transfers once to the next owner.

The install

Our workmanship warranty

Written on your quote before you approve it. A perfect window set badly will still leak, so the installation carries its own coverage from us.

The follow-up

We come back

If a window sticks, whistles or sweats a year from now, you call and somebody comes out and looks at it. No ticket number.

ProVia, part by part

What the Manufacturer Covers

Summarized from ProVia’s Lifetime Limited Transferable Warranty for its Aeris, Endure and Aspect vinyl windows. The warranty card itself governs.

Part of the window How long What it covers
Vinyl frame and sash Lifetime, transferable once Chipping, cracking, peeling, pitting, blistering, warping or delamination of the rigid vinyl and factory-applied wood components, for as long as you own and live in the home.
Insulated glass seal Lifetime Fogging or film between the panes caused by failure of the air-tight seal on Super Spacer glass units.
Glass breakage Lifetime Glass broken by a manufacturing defect, or by an accident in the home that insurance does not cover or that falls within your deductible. Not garden windows or units with internal blinds.
Hardware Lifetime Moving parts such as double-hung balances and the locks on every unit, under normal use.
Screens Lifetime Screening that rots, stains or rusts. Torn mesh from use is not covered.
Factory paint on vinyl 15 years Cracking, pitting, peeling, blistering or uneven fading of a factory-applied color finish.
Interior wood finish 10 years Flaking, checking, blistering or peeling of a factory paint or stain on interior wood components.
Bay and bow frames and roof kits 10 years Defects in material and workmanship on the projecting frame and roof of a bay or bow window.

Four Things Worth Knowing

It transfers onceSelling the house? The warranty on the window unit passes to one subsequent owner of the home. The transfer has to be completed online at provia.com within thirty days of the sale, and we will walk you through it.
Register itWe do this with you. ProVia asks that every warranty be registered online. If it ever gets missed, your receipt and our invoice showing the address still establish coverage, so keep both.
Rentals are differentNot living in it? For a rental, a multi-family building or a business, the terms are shorter: five years on the unit, ten on the glass, one on hardware. Ask us before you order for a rental.
Caulk is maintenanceNot a defect. Exterior caulking is not part of the window under ProVia’s warranty. Check it each year. If it needs redoing, call us, that is what our follow-up promise is for.

Not covered

What the Manufacturer Leaves Out

No warranty covers everything. These are the exclusions homeowners actually run into, so there are no surprises.

CondensationMoisture on the inside of the glass comes from humidity in the house, not from the window. A dehumidifier or a kitchen fan fixes it. It is not a defect.
Weather and accidentsStorms, lightning, wind-borne debris, fire, movement of the building and other things outside anyone’s control.
Tints, films and paintAnything applied to the glass or frame after installation, and any damage it causes.
Bad installationProVia does not cover damage from improper installation. That is exactly why our workmanship warranty exists, and why we install to their spec.

If something goes wrong

How a Claim Actually Works

1

Call us, not a call center

Describe what is happening, or send a photo. Most issues we can diagnose from that.

2

We come and look

An installer inspects the window and decides whether it is a product issue, an install issue, or maintenance. You get told which, honestly.

3

We file with ProVia

If it is the product, we handle the claim and the paperwork. ProVia repairs or ships a replacement part or unit to us.

4

We put it right

We install the part. If it was our workmanship, it is on us. Labor terms for a manufacturer replacement are set out on your quote so there is nothing to argue about later.

Care

Simple Maintenance, Straight From the Card

Five minutes a year keeps it covered

  • Keep the weep holes clear. The small slots in the bottom of the frame drain rain to the outside. A pass with a vacuum nozzle each spring keeps them open.
  • Check the exterior caulk once a year. Look for cracks or pulling away. It is the one thing the manufacturer calls maintenance.
  • Wash the vinyl with soap and water. No abrasive cleaners or solvents like paint thinner. Small scratches buff out with a vinyl-safe compound.
  • Keep the weatherstrip clean. Wipe it down, then a light coat of a furniture spray keeps it supple and sealing.
  • Watch the humidity. If the glass sweats in January, the house is too humid. Run the bath and kitchen fans and consider a dehumidifier.
